Fulmer Award Exhibition 2019

The Yaletown Roundhouse Community Centre recently hosted a four day exhibition for the Fulmer Award in First Nations Art, an event held in partnership with the BC Achievement Foundation. The exhibition ran from November 18th to 21st in order to showcase the careers of five prominent BC Indigenous artists.

The annual awards event took place on Thursday evening and the recipients included Gus Cook (Kwakwaka’wakw), and Henry Green (Tsm’syen), Maynard Johnny Jr. (Coast Salish),  Michelle Stoney (Gitxsan) and Doreen Manuel (Secwepemc/Ktunaxa).

For this public show, Coastal Peoples Gallery loaned several pieces from the gallery collection to support awareness and recognition of these talented artists for their excellence in traditional, contemporary, and multi-media art.
