Allan Sheupiapik was born in Iqaluit, Nunavut. Iqaluit is the capital and largest community in Nunavut, resulting in a large diversity of styles. Many of the artists from Iqaluit represent the Arctic wildlife from their community; often depicting these creatures in unique and playful postures.
