Amy Edgars

Northwest Coast Native Artist Amy Edgars from Haida Nation

Haida Nation

Amy Edgars comes from a distinguished line of argillite artists, and her father Myles Edgars is a well-known Haida carver from Queen Charlotte City in Old Massett on the Haida Gwaii Islands.

She has been an artist since the tender age of 16, and it was her father who inspired her to pursue argillite carving. Now in her mid-twenties (2013), her work has already been collected internationally.

Amy is making quite a name for herself, and has created a second career by passing along her knowledge through teaching so the next generation of artists can apprentice through her expertise.
