Greg Henderson
Kwakwaka’wakw Nation
As the youngest son of Ernie Henderson and the grandson of master carver Sam Henderson Sr., Greg Henderson originates from the Weiwaikum band of Campbell River, British Columbia.
At the tender age of 8, he began his apprenticeship with his father along with his uncles and mentors Mark and Bill Henderson, who are both acclaimed artists in their own right.
Throughout his career, it is apparent how much Greg aspires to honouring his craft. He takes great pleasure from utilizing the skills that have been passed to him by creating pieces illustrating the mythology of his people though his carvings and paintings.
Now a third generation artist within the Henderson family, he is destined to perpetuate his grandfather’s legacy and it is considered an honour for him to do so.
