Idris Moss-Davies was born in Qikiqtarjuaq (Broughton Island) in 1974. Idris started his carving while in Toronto, working alongside well-known artists Manasie Akpaliapik and David Ruben Piqtoukun. His mother is Inuit who is Geela Alikatuktuk and she carves in stone, ivory, antler and bone as well as being a talented tapestry artist. Idris now resides in Ottawa.
