Isacci Etidloie

Isaac Etidloie Inuit Artist

1972 – 2014

Born November 15, 1972, Isacci was the son of Cape Dorset carver, Etulu Etidloi, and the grandson of renowned graphic artists, Etidloie and Kingmeata Etidloie.  He had been carving since he first used his father’s tools at the age of seven.

Isacci prefered the more difficult work of creating complex pieces with varied materials, using antler, ivory, and stone. His favourite subjects were people engaged in activities: drum dancing and fishing. His pieces all have a remarkable sense of movement.
