Lucas Aaluk

Sculpture by Inuit Native artist Lucas Aaluk

Lucas Aaluk was born to a family of carvers in the 1980’s and has been carving professionally for the last ten years.

He is the son of Leonie Nuyaoqiq Aaluk, a successful carver who has been featured in several exhibitions outside of the Canadian Arctic since 1974.

Lucas’ carvings are often highly spiritual in nature, and he prefers carving dynamic, stylized forms with boldly expressive faces.
