Thomas Sivuraq
Baker Lake
Thomas Sivuraq was born on September 15, 1941 on the South side of Baker Lake. He is married to Baker Lake artist Nancy Kangeryuaq. His half-brother, Peter Sevoqa is also a well known Baker Lake artist.
Thomas started to carve in 1960. He is a self-taught artist, who learned how to carve the hard stone that surrounds Baker Lake, called Basalt.
