Supernatural Eye Sculpture
Robert Davidson RCA
Price upon requestEpoxy Powder-Coasted Aluminum, Granite base
2007
Limited edition of 5
Davidson’s inspiration in creating this contemporary sculpture was the many supernatural beings that dwell on the Haida Gwaii Islands.
First, Davidson worked from drawings and then manipulated cut-out cards subtly before moving to prototyping the piece in different materials, sizes, and colours. Made from aluminum cut by a water-jet process, this sculpture’s thick curved planar form evokes the cut-outs used in making appliquéd blankets. Its sculptural design is innovative in its reliance on form and line and its use of negative space to create the image of the eye.
The second edition of Supernatural Eye is currently in the collection of the National Gallery in Ottawa.

Salish Weave Hoop Earrings – Medium
Jody Sparrow
CA$290.00Sterling silver, Engraved
“The significance of the Salish Weave is that it allowed me to take a very difficult and intricate design and apply it to silver and gold jewelry, making it my own unique statement to the world.
Traditionally, the Salish Weave was used only on wood and cedar. Being able to participate in a Cedar Hat-making workshop with the late Holly Williams allowed me to prepare and create my own Cedar Hat. It was a very tactile and visually appealing experience, so I would say this is the beginning of my thought process of putting the cedar weave to metal and being able to take the feel of the cedar and recreate it on metal.
I feel contentment and pride in my completed works because the Salish Weave in jewelry is a contemporary idea that holds onto tradition. Weaving us together is an expression that tells the story of people feeling connected to the land, their community and each other; yet, allows them to be unique as in no two pieces of jewelry are the same.” – Jody Sparrow, 2023

Basket Weave Vase
Patrick Leach
CA$250.00Porcelain, Engraved with Interior Glaze
On Patrick Leach’s pottery, the final touches are carefully hand-carved landscapes, geometric designs, and scenes borrowed from ancient rock paintings called pictographs. These designs are either replicas of, or inspired by, the red ochre pictographs found in Stein Valley near Leach’s childhood home. Leach frequently employs contrasting bands of red ochre glaze to represent earth, blue for sky, yellow for sunrise or orange for sunset.

galts’ap (Wolf Mother & Cub)
Philip Gray
CA$1,200.00Serigraph, Edition of 70
2023
Unframed
(For inquiries on custom framing, please contact the gallery)
galts’ap means Village or Community
“The main figure is of a mother wolf with a cub at her feet and another still in her womb. I liked the idea of wolves for this concept because of their tight community-based society. In my experience, women have always been the ones to step up and ensure that our community could be a safe place. They also lead the way by ensuring that we have a future to look forward to through land and water protection.
Above all of that, hanaa’nax(women) have the capacity to be the embodiment of community through their ability to bring life into this world. More than that in Ts’msyen society, rights flow through the women. My sister and myself are Ts’msyen because our mother is Ts’msyen, but my sister will be the only one to pass along those rights to our next generation.
Just to clarify, the translation is not perfect when it is in English, and in no way am I referring to women as containers for children. Our community is what makes our society strong, and I want to highlight that the most important rolls in my communities have always been filled by women and hanaa’ax are the most important part of Ts’msyen society” -Phil Gray
