Jewelry
Over the centuries, cultural and ceremonial forms of adornment have evolved from shells to tattoos to the modern metals and natural materials seen in contemporary jewelry today. The distinctive symbols of the Northwest Coast and Inuit are designed into beautiful, wearable works of art.

Salish Weave Hoop Earrings
Jody Sparrow
CA$130.00Copper, Engraved
“The significance of the Salish Weave is that it allowed me to take a very difficult and intricate design and apply it to silver and gold jewelry, making it my own unique statement to the world.
Traditionally, the Salish Weave was used only on wood and cedar. Being able to participate in a Cedar Hat-making workshop with the late Holly Williams allowed me to prepare and create my own Cedar Hat. It was a very tactile and visually appealing experience, so I would say this is the beginning of my thought process of putting the cedar weave to metal and being able to take the feel of the cedar and recreate it on metal.
I feel contentment and pride in my completed works because the Salish Weave in jewelry is a contemporary idea that holds onto tradition. Weaving us together is an expression that tells the story of people feeling connected to the land, their community and each other; yet, allows them to be unique as in no two pieces of jewelry are the same.” – Jody Sparrow, 2023

“Initiation” Bracelet
Gwaai Edenshaw
CA$280.00Sterling silver, Impressed
Domed, TaperedFrom Gwaai Edenshaw:
“Like fragmented artifacts or a keyhole peek at a larger design, this is the essence of the Regalia Line. From an idea conceived over a decade ago, through techniques fine-tuned over the last 5 years comes a new line by designer Gwaai Edenshaw.
Initiation is the inaugural collection by Regalia. These one-of-a-kind pieces merge Haida tradition with modern fashion for a distinct combination of quality and style.
Once embossed on sterling silver or gold sheets, specific images are carefully chosen for their aesthetic and narrative qualities. These are then shaped and polished by hand ensuring no two pieces will ever be alike.”

Qolun (Beaver) Pin/Pendant
Lyle Wilson
CA$1,000.00Sterling silver, Cast, Engraved, Textured
Edition of 14
2013
“The Beaver was my original clan but I was adopted into my father’s Eagle Clan because it was thought that it might become extinct; many Eagle Clan members died due to having no immunity to early European diseases.
The wild beaver seems to understand an old, but true, Haisla proverb: ‘If you work hard today, you will have plenty tomorrow.’ Or perhaps it was actually my ancestors who came to understand, emulate and respect the working habits of this industrious little animal enough to create the original Haisla Beaver Clan.”

Koru Pendant
Maori Artist
CA$70.00Bone
The Koru’s closed outer circle represents the circle of life which has no beginning or end, is seamless and of which we are all a part. It also tells of the stars and plants which are part of the circle of life and contain knowledge of our origins. For the artist, it represents the relationship or oneness between himself and his craft, bringing together head, hand and heart.
The spiral of a Koru, which is the fern frond as it opens, brings new life and purity to the world. It also represents peace, tranquility and spirituality along with a strong sense of re-growth or new beginnings. The Koru is often associated with nurturing so is frequently used to represent strength and purity of a loving relationship within a family.
The intertwining of these elements represent oneness within the natural world where spirituality, strength, beauty, old and new life all blend into one unifying force.
