Herbert (Herb) Lancaster was born in Alert Bay, British Columbia, Canada, which is a fishing village located along the northeastern coast of Vancouver Island. He is a member of the ‘Namgis First Nation.
Herb Lancaster began making jewelry at a young age and was mentored and encouraged by his older brothers, John and Donald Lancaster. Herb also learned a great deal from watching his uncle Norman Seaweed.
Herb Lancaster currently lives in Victoria, British Columbia, and shares a studio with his two brothers and uncle.
