David Jones was born October 10, 1991 in Masset, Haida Gwaii, British Columbia. David began his career as an artist at the tender age of 10, first producing original paintings, and then learning to carve in both wood and argillite. Most recently, David has started to learn the art of jewelry carving.
Jones’ father-in-law, the notable Haida artist Derek J. White, introduced him to the skill of jewelry design and creation. David now works in silver, copper, and gold and is currently developing the intricate and demanding techniques of repoussé and inlay. As a new generation artist, David demonstrates promise and talent in his designs and execution.
