Description | New Zealand Yuri Terenyi currently resides in a small settlement outside of Dunedin on the South Island of New Zealand. Yuri is a versatile artist who has mastered his craft in bone and wood carvings, as well as being an accomplished musician, and specializes in intricate designs with strong traditional style and stunning detail. As a musician he has a great love for music and the use of traditional instruments, which he carves himself. Each piece is hand crafted and then tuned and tested so they are beautiful as well as real working instruments capable of amazing sound in the right hands. Yuri is continually pursuing new methods and materials to create both very traditional and highly contemporary art pieces. His mixed heritage also inspires him to create very unique miniature sculptures and wearable art which illustrates the connection and blending of the many cultures he has encountered in his studies and travels. |
