Maleetu Akesuk was born June 30, 1993 in Cape Dorset and his favorite subject matter is the Inukshuk. His mother is Alauaq Akesuk and his father is well known artist Peter Parr. While he is quite young, he is very talented and dedicated to his craft. He learned to carve by studying the methods of his father Peter Parr and grandfather, Nuna Parr, both of which are quite renowned in the Inuit carving community.
